Mesa is Arizona's third largest city and a suburb of Phoenix. Mesa is rapidly approaching 450,000 residents. The Mesa Police Department is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies and employs over 1,400 members. Mesa PD has 830+ sworn officers certified by the Arizona Peace Officers Standards and Training Board (AZPOST). Mesa PD hires over 100 officers annually to account for attrition and new positions authorized by the Mesa City Council. If you are interested in serving with the Mesa Police Department, Mesa is always looking for quality officers and employees.
The Mesa Fraternal Order of Police has over 850 sworn and civilian members in its parent and associate lodge. The Mesa F.O.P. represents all Mesa PD employees in Meet and Discuss sessions with Mesa City Management and the Mesa Police Department over wages, benefits and working conditions. Together with the Arizona Labor Council, the Mesa F.O.P. protects the rights of Mesa PD employees. Our legal package through the Arizona Labor Council is recognized nationwide as a leader in public safety legal protection.
While the Mesa F.O.P. is the labor organization for Mesa PD employees, we are still a charitable and fraternal organization. Diversity is the key to our success. The Mesa F.O.P. is a multi-faceted organization contributing to worthy charitable organizations and meeting the social needs of our members. The Mesa F.O.P. is a family. We fight hard for our family. Come to Mesa and join one of the nation's best police departments; come join the Mesa F.O.P. family.
